Being a SAMARITAN Sharing stories in short poems

Find out what it’s like to REALLY be a SAMARITAN. Eastbourne and District Branch has recently published a short anthology of poems called “Being a SAMARITAN sharing stories in short poems” to give a flavour the many and varied calls we take.

Each story provides an insight into the lives of people who ring SAMARITANS. The booklet explains the power of listening and how we support callers without giving advice. Although there is a good deal of sadness in these stories the empathy and connection which is provided by sitting alongside the caller is an inspiration and a joy. It demonstrates that anyone can train as a listener providing they have the commitment and willingness to reach out to others without judgement.

The book is available on Amazon for £4.00 (£3.00 on kindle ) and all profits go to our charity.
