Eastbourne Community Network Meeting / Loneliness Matters Workshop

Bringing local groups together and addressing loneliness within our community.

On the 12th November, local organisations joined the Eastbourne Community Network Meeting hosted by Community Action East Sussex. It was an opportunity for groups to network and share ideas with a specific focus on loneliness and how organisations are supporting their members.

Gill Reynolds from SCDA ran a Loneliness Matters Workshop, facilitating discussions amongst attendees on tackling loneliness. This was followed by panel speakers from Linking Lives, Compass Arts, Sanctuary and Sunshine Coast Breastfeeding answering questions around loneliness.

Graphic Artist, Katie Merrien, illustrated our discussions throughout the event to visually capture what is being done within our community around loneliness, which you can see below.

We asked attendees to offer an ‘asset’ and state a ‘need’ to add to our community noticeboard. Our aim with this task is to highlight any resources or services which groups could potentially share with other organisations but also state what they are in need of. From this, we have developed a live spreadsheet of assets and needs within Eastbourne which can be added to.

You can view the assets and needs spreadsheet here.

Please contact anna.hoad@communityactioneastsussex.org.uk if you would like to add your organisation to this list.

It was fantastic to see so many groups come together and we hope to see even more of you at our events in 2026. Keep an eye on updates from Community Action East Sussex to save your place at future events.
