Beachy Head Ambassadors

The Beachy Head Ambassador project is being commissioned by East Sussex Public Health and hosted by Community Action East Sussex, to positively promote Beachy Head. With the help of the Beachy Head Ambassador Volunteers, we offer visitor information, host free activities and showcase all the best aspects of Beachy Head.
It is an opportunity to encourage both locals and tourists to use the area for active and engaging activities or increase their knowledge of the local area whilst taking care of the natural environment.

Visitor Experience
We aim to improve the experience for visitors at Beachy Head by offering information on chalk grassland wildlife, the history of Beachy Head, various walking routes and local sites and attractions.
A free guidebook has also been developed which holds a wide range of information.

Free Activities
From walking groups and boot camp fitness sessions to yoga and silent discos, we host a range of activities. This encourages locals to enjoy the natural space on their doorstep, bring people together in the community and improve health and wellbeing.
All activities are free and mostly take place on weekdays early in the morning or in the evenings, so even those working full-time can join in! Join our Meetup group (it’s completely free, no need to enter bank details) and get notified of upcoming activities here.

Showcasing Beachy Head
The volunteers capture all that Beachy Head has to offer through photos and videos to highlight all the positive aspects of the area. Through social media we communicate the best ways to experience Beachy Head as well as educate on how best to look after it.

Taking care of Beachy Head
We share information on how people can take care of this unique natural space to help preserve the chalk grassland habitats and to improve the biodiversity. Working with the Beachy Head Ranger, the Beachy Head Ambassadors have supported scrub clearance to improve the quality of the chalk grassland. If you would be interested in volunteering with the Beachy Head Ranger to work on the land maintenance, please email us.
