Organisation Develop Outdoors CIC

2 x Engagement & Well-being Tutors (Boys' or Girls' Programme – Years 7 & 8)

Freelance | 3 Days per Week | Term Time Only (days TBC)

Location: Brighton (Free parking available at venues)

Hours: 9:00am-3:00pm

Each delivery day includes:

5 hours learner-facing delivery
1 hour planning, preparation, learner records and administration

Rate of Pay: £22 per hour (Freelance / Self-Employed)

Contract: Initial one-year contract (September 2026 – July 2027)
37 weeks per year

Develop Outdoors CIC is seeking two creative, nurturing and energetic Tutors to join our growing team, delivering an exciting Engagement & Wellbeing Programme for Year 7 and 8 students.

Working alongside another Tutor, you will support a small group of up to eight learners who benefit from practical, relationship-based learning outside of mainstream classroom approaches.

The programme focuses on building confidence, resilience, positive relationships and life skills whilst embedding Functional Skills in meaningful, engaging activities.

If you believe learning should be active, creative and centred around young people's interests, we'd love to hear from you.

Learners will also build a portfolio of accredited learning and certificates linked to their interests, achievements and engagement activities.

Early Functional Skills in English and Maths are naturally embedded throughout sessions using practical, real-life learning opportunities.

Comfortable working as part of a supportive Tutor team.
Organised and confident in IT/managing paperwork

Essential Requirements
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Teaching, Youth Work, Coaching, Education or a related field.
Experience delivering or supporting learning programmes.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with young people.
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (business insurance required).
Desirable Experience
Experience supporting young people with SEND and/or SEMH.
Experience embedding Functional Skills into practical activities.
Experience delivering well-being or personal development programmes.
Experience using creative, outdoor or active learning approaches.
Experience of completing accreditation for students/young people.
