FREE ESSCP Course: Exploring The Links Between Domestic Abuse and Suicide, Training – 16.09.26, 10:00am – 12noon, via Teams
- Do you understand how to assess and evaluate how adults with care and support needs affect the care and safety of children?
- Do you routinely consider adults within a family and their potential care and support needs in their own right?
- Do you understand your responsibilities to raise safeguarding concerns under the Care Act 2014 with Adult Social Care and to report crimes or suspected crimes to the Police?

This session will:
- Raise awareness of Adult Safeguarding and its relevance for the multi-agency children’s workforce around safeguarding in line with The Care Act 2014 and the Sussex Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedures.
- Enable you to identify forms of abuse and neglect and explore risk factors.
- Give you the opportunity to consider current policy and legislation.
- Help you understand the procedures and your role in raising a concern and sharing information with the Local Authority.
- Highlight the ‘Think Family Approach’ when working within families and across the generations.
- Explore learning from Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews (DARDRs) and Children Safeguarding Practice Reviews (CSPRs) and Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARS)
