Organisation Survivors Network

Groupwork and helpline volunteers

Survivors Network is the Rape Crisis centre for Sussex. We support all survivors of sexual violence, no matter when or how the abuse happened.

We are recruiting for compassionate volunteers to support survivors via our helpline/ email support and at our groups. We value our volunteers and we could not deliver theses services without them.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to support our helpline / email service, our in-person peer support groups, our over 50s group, creative groups and our online groups which run throughout the week.

You will need to be able to commit to 3-4 shifts per month, shifts are usually 3 hours.

Helpline shifts are in the evening 18:30 to 21:30 on a Monday and Wednesday 11:30 to 14:00.

Peer support groups are Wednesday evening 18:30 - 20:30, Thursday morning 10:30 - 13:30, Thursday in Eastbourne 10:30-13:30, and Friday morning 10:30 - 13:30 (Age 50+).

We also have a creative group every other Tuesday 13:30-16:00 in Brighton.

We are prioritising applicants who are available to cover our Thursday peer group and also our group in Eastbourne. Travel expenses will be paid if you do not live locally.

Recruitment is open to all women and gender diverse people aged 21 or above.

100% of our current volunteers said they would recommend being a SN volunteer.

Please find more information including the application forms on our website: Volunteer - Survivors Network.

Please return the forms to kat@survivorsnetwork.org.uk before the 25th of September 2026.
