  • Value: Up to £8,000
  • Application deadline: 16 October 2026
  • Eligible expenditure: Grants support feasibility work for new housing-based projects. Funding can be used for staff time, stakeholder engagement, service design, financial modelling, research, specialist consultancy and reasonable travel costs associated with developing a viable proposal.

Who can apply:

  • Applications are accepted from charities, social enterprises, community organisations and public sector organisations in England, Scotland and Wales.
  • Applications from partnerships between organisations are also encouraged where different expertise is needed to develop the model.
  • Applicants should demonstrate a strong understanding of the issue they are seeking to address and the ability to develop the proposal into a viable housing project.

Eligible Expenditure:

Funding will support groups to undertake a feasibility study into the viability of their new housing-based projects. Commonweal will provide advice and support throughout this stage.

The funding can be used for:

  • Staff time
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Service design
  • Financial modelling
  • Research
  • Specialist consultancy
  • Travel where appropriate.
