  • Application deadline: 3 November 2026
  • Eligible expenditure: Funding can cover reasonable project costs, including project-related staff costs and pilot activity costs. Projects must use technology to support education, inclusion, technology for charities, or public understanding of technology, with particular interest in innovative approaches such as AI, digital skills, data, analytics and accessibility technologies.

Who can apply:

UK registered charities that have been established for at least one year and that have both an annual income and unrestricted reserves below £1 million may apply.

Eligible Expenditure:

The funding can cover ‘all reasonable expenses’ linked to the specific project and listed in the applicant’s budget. Staff costs that are linked to the project and are not for the full amount of the grant will be considered.

Pilot projects will be considered.

A WCIT grant should also represent at least 25% of the overall project budget.

The funding is for projects that use technology in a meaningful way and support one or more of the charity’s priority areas:

  • Public understanding of technology.

There is particular interest in innovative projects involving areas such as AI, data and analytics, robotics, digital skills or accessibility technologies.

  • Demonstrate strong value for money and social impact
  • Benefit at least 25 people in the UK
  • Are innovative and not simply a business-as-usual activity
  • Deliver clear and measurable outcomes
