Inspire Creativity. Build Confidence. Create Futures.

Develop Outdoors CIC is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and supportive Hair, Beauty & Creative Industries Tutor to join our growing team.

This exciting role involves delivering engaging vocational learning programmes to small groups of young people aged 11-16 who benefit from alternative approaches to education. Through practical activities, project-based learning and industry-focused experiences, you will help learners develop confidence, employability skills and an understanding of opportunities within the hair, beauty and creative industries.

The role is currently available for 1-2 days per week, with opportunities for additional delivery days and programme development as our provision continues to grow.

About the Programme

Learners will explore a range of practical and vocational topics including:
• Basic hair care and styling techniques
• Hair presentation and creative styling
• Nail art and beauty-based activities
• Customer service and client care skills
• Beauty industry and career pathway research
• Product knowledge and beauty trends
• Health, safety and hygiene within the industry
• Enterprise and small business awareness
• Seasonal and themed projects, such as hair and make-up for special events
• Employability and workplace skills

Sessions are delivered to small groups of learners in a supportive, relationship-based environment where confidence building and personal development are as important as vocational learning.

Why Join Us?

At Develop Outdoors, we believe great Tutors come from a range of backgrounds. We welcome applications from experienced hairdressers, beauticians, salon professionals, mobile practitioners and self-employed business owners who are passionate about sharing their skills and inspiring young people.

Whilst experience working with young people is welcomed, we recognise that many industry professionals bring valuable practical knowledge, creativity and real-world experience that can have a significant impact on learners.

Full induction, safeguarding training and ongoing support will be provided.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and develop a growing Hair, Beauty & Creative Industries programme, creating engaging and inspiring learning experiences for young people in an alternative education setting.

Additional Business Opportunity

Alongside the Tutor role, there may be an optional opportunity to rent a chair within our developing community salon space in Newhaven.

This could provide the opportunity to build or expand your own hair and beauty business, develop a local client base and work alongside Develop Outdoors Trading's growing community and training provision.

Details regarding chair rental and salon opportunities can be discussed with shortlisted candidates and are entirely separate from the tutoring contract.
