Recovery Support Volunteer
The Volunteer Recovery Coordinator Support Role will support service users through drug and alcohol treatment by assisting care coordinators. This will be through brief interventions, group work, recovery care planning and signposting to specialist services. The Volunteer will work with Service Users to initiate and build their recovery capital and move into long-term sustained recovery and social reintegration.
Key Activities:
• Supporting the care coordinator with their client caseload, coordinating client’s treatment options and to contributing to the development of individual community recovery plans, under the direction of the care coordinator and volunteer coordinator.
• Provide 1:1 support sessions including harm reduction advice and recovery planning.
• Support those who use our services to achieve their care plan goals.
• Support and empower service users to engage in recovery activities both within Change Grow Live and the wider community.
• To support the facilitation of group work.
• Urine screening clients for substances.
• Complete administration tasks such as photo copying, scanning and uploading client documents on to CRIis.
• Document sessions on case management systems

In carrying out the above duties the post holder will:

• To follow the Change Grow Live’s procedures and standards, including health and safety and equal opportunities, in relation to our staff, volunteers and clients.
• To maintain the confidential information of Change Grow Live and of our clients; adhering to Change Grow Live’s policies and procedures
• To meet the time commitments and standards which have been mutually agreed and to give reasonable notice so other arrangements can be made when this is not possible.
Person Specification
Education Knowledge and Experience:
• Understanding of the issues faced by our client group
• IT literacy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative prioritising accordingly.
• Ability to liaise and work in partnership with a wide range of professionals and agencies.
• Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality
