Organisation Schoolreaders

Schoolreaders Volunteers
Schoolreaders is a national literacy charity dedicated to helping children improve their reading and comprehension skills. 1 in 4 children are currently leaving primary school below the expected reading level which can have a negative life-long impact. By volunteering with Schoolreaders, individuals can make a meaningful difference in a child's life.
Volunteers need to be over 18. They attend their matched school at least once a week, to read 1:1 with children to support them with their reading and help them to find pleasure in reading. Volunteers need to be able to commit to at least an hour each week for a full year during term time (although holidays can of course be taken) Volunteers should have a good standard of spoken and written English, but we do not require any specific qualifications.
