Food for Thought Sunday Lunches at Community Chef

Bringing people together through food, culture and conversation – a new series of Sunday lunches hosted by Community Chef with guest cooks:

  • Sunday 20th September – A Taste of Brazil
  • Sunday 18th October – A Taste of Rwanda
  • Sunday 1st November – A Taste of the Swahili Coast

Come hungry. Come curious. Come and share the table.

Pay what you can – £15 suggested, reduced price and free places available.

Food has an extraordinary ability to bring people together. We may speak different languages, come from different countries and have very different life experiences, but sitting down and sharing a meal gives us an immediate point of connection.

That simple idea is at the heart of Food for Thought, a new series of Sunday lunches from Community Chef. Each event will be centred around a meal prepared and shared by someone with a personal connection to the food and culture being celebrated.

This is about more than discovering new dishes. Over lunch, our guest cooks will have the opportunity to tell their own stories – about their country, their food, their traditions and the experiences that have shaped their lives.

Afterwards, we will gently open up the conversation around the table, giving people the chance to ask questions, exchange experiences and, most importantly, listen to one another.
